    Default vn back fire

    Hey all

So i recently put a brand new fuel pump into my vn which was originally only running on gas as the old fuel pump had stopped working long before I got the pig. So i filled the petrol tank up and the ran it on petrol. It seemed to run fine until i put my foot down and the car started to start and stop and also back fire. The back fire came from the engine bay though and when i looked under the bonnet the airbox had come off the air intake hose. I also saw that the box had a hole in it. I found a few bits on the air filter but is it possible that there may be some bits in the engine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers Tyrone

maybe try changing spark plugs and leads
when was the last time they were changed
and after a long period of gas driving like months they dont seem to drive well on petrol
mine did that for a while till i changed them havnt had a problem since
aswell coil pack could be on its way out but i would do leads and plugs first

same thing happened to me only i had a pod filter on so didnt brake anything,
i dont think anything would have gone in the engine
when this happened to me it was the plugs and leads,
change them and hopefully your problem will be solved
if not at least u are starting at the cheaper option which would need to be done eventually neway

if ran on gas for too long im sure the injector o rings would dry out and leak and cause your problem ... ?

change fuel filter and run bottle nulon injector cleaner at full bottle to half tank of premium fuel and give it a boot to the floor on freeway to clean out injectors ... the injectors or fuel filter might be blocked...

also try this pop the hood and start engine get someone to rev it for few seconds whilst you looks at the injectors and look for leaks ...

running your car on gas long time is bad as valves stuff up and seals dry out from not having lubrication from the fuel ...

well this is what I been told ..

cars suck ... all they are to us is problem after problem and a money pit ...but we still keep putting up with them just like we do with women lol
