Hey all, my fuel pump does strange things and has since day one, but maybe someone can shine some light on why it does it because no other commodore does it. The first thing is it remains active for about 5-10 secs after Ive switched off the ignition and sounds like it struggles before turning itself off. But then the weird(er) part is that a couple of seconds after it turns off, it sometimes comes back on for a few seconds before switching itself off again, but then stays off. The initial prime when I turn on the ignition is fine.
The car seems to run fine though. I dont get it!![]()

Mine runs for about 5 secs after shutdown, I'm told it's the OP switch that causes this.
Check out my VP right 'ere!
You may be on the right track there. Had a quick look at some diagrams and the only two things that can make the pump run is the ECU and OP switch. Ill disconnect the OP switch and see how it reacts. The 'struggle' could be a poor connection in the switch before it completely loses contact.
It means your motor is good as new foxman, not many others do it because they are worn out. It keeps going until the oil pressure drops off
hehe that or the switch is old and had it. But I like your idea better.![]()
