hey guys.. i was just wondering.. im setting up a system in my car and wanted to put a forward mounted sub in and a reversed mounted sub in the same box.. the box is sealed.. would that stuff up the subs????
when one pumps the other pumps the otherway and im worried it will blow a sub or distort it...
thanks guys...
Well it'll work, it'd be the same as having two subs sharing one enclosure firing in the same direction mechanically.
Sound-wise, probably not the best idea as firing the same signal in two opposite directions is bound to create some dead-waves, making quite an uneven sound.
If you were to say seal the rear sub off from the front sub through the ski-hatch in the back seat then it'd sound better, but as you'd know, you'll need to build the box with 2 subs in mind.
Either way, I wouldn't recommend it as anything more than an experiment in sound.
Why did you want to set it up this way?

Why don't you just build a box with a window in the back so you can see the backs/fronts (if you reverse mount them) from the boot?![]()

You can do that, just make sure that the polarity of one sub is the opposite to the other sub. EG:
sub 1 facing towards front of car: +ve to +ve, -ve to -ve
sub 2 facing towards rear of car: +ve to -ive, -ve to +ve.
This will mean that as one sub is moving out, the other will be moving in.
