    You mean "genuine".

Ring Holden and run the VIN by them, they will tell you.

None of the VN SS's were Berlina's As far as I know they were all Executives.

The build plate will have a code on it - A9F

that would be for auto ones, a9g were manuals.
pretty easy to tell though, a9f or a9g for trans, must be v8 (fkn duh) s pac interior, fe2, lsd, body kit and ss badge on the dash.

some were optioned with power windows/antenna and some were povo packs (like mine)

no IRS. should have an LSD and a parcel shelf light. im 99% sure they are an exec code, not berlina, as i was looking at VN SS's to buy last year and asked the same question about vin codes

Yes should have FE2 - I think thats standard on all SS's

But the true key is the build code - no code = no SS

Parcel shelf light will depend on what year it is.

A nice berlina moke up with all the SS goodies would not be a bad car - just would not be the real deal and that can hurt when you pay big $$ for what is ment to be a real SS

I have seen this car in person and took the photo of the build plate. Should ask if it is an open or LSD now as it could have been changed at some point.

The LSD code is G80 from memory.

Yeah LSD code is G80. Keep in mind GU4 doesn't mean it has an open wheeler, just means it has a 3.08:1 ratio.

Yep - GU4 is the 3.08 diff for the V8 on the build plate - no ref to LSD or open. So all's good

The build option for the LSD was G80
