I have acquired a VN Berlina interior light with maplights. I intend to upgrade the light on my VP executive. Problem is, there are two wires in the VP and three required for the Berlina light. I would guess that the third, smaller wire, would have to be tapped into a constant power supply so that the lamps will work when the motor is off. Can anyone suggest where the best source would be. I have looked at similar posts but most seem to deal with later models with different electrics.....
that third wire, just wire into the orange cable. not the orange and white one. the map lights will work no worries. and they work whilst the car is on too. there is switches on them.

Before you test it, make sure it is screwed in. I remember reading somewhere that the screw acts as an earth.
The search button does work...
The exra wire just needs to be soldered into the orange/white wire. Yes the screws act as the ground for the light.
Also you could go to a wreakers and take the last 20cms or so of wire from a berlina or calais and just use that. then just add it to your existing wiring. Or take the whole wire from the doner car. Plugs into a connector near the bonnet release. Easiest way, to do this.
Two different answers... So do I tap the orange one or the orange and white one????
Sorry orange wire.
I had it wrong. Orange/white wire goes to the door switch.
