Default VP SS Gear Stick Loose?

Hey Guys, Im new to the forums as i just brought a VP SS in a Manual. Ive just realized the Manual Gear Stick is really Loose? (Up and down NOT side to side), i Tightened up the 2 bolts at the bottom of the stick with an alan key, but after 3 mins of driving it, it started getting loose again?

Any help on this problem will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance!

loctite isnt an adhesive. if it was you may as well use superglue lol. removing it in the future wont be a problem.

have a look at which thread is worn first. if its just the bolts then you can probably get new ones.

Oh, its not an adhesive? Oh sweet, best case scenario is that the bolts are worn like you said ill go to bursons tomorrow and get new bolts and see if that helps, if not Loctite it is!!

    Much appreciated guys.

Alllllso had the same problem. I ended up buying a pack of the bolts just incase (they come in a pack of 3 for some weird reason). Which was a good idea, lost one out the car when it came loose. Now used locktight.

    could be another thing...

The nylon (or whatever they are) bushes in the shifter itself flog out as it's like a ball and socket setup, and the shifter becomes loose in every direction.

I had this problem on my VN. MY cheap fix was to fit another shifter that wasnt thrashed lol. problem solved!

Its usually the bolts, those parts usually stay on, unless you take it off (or your idiot mate takes it off to make you a custom short shifter you didn't even want). After that, there never the same haha

Loctite is a must for keeping those bolts in. Haven't found another way to do it otherwise (also going to a Ripshift they say to use loctite as well)

As for the bush that REV-231 was talking about, I found the best way to solve that problem was to just weld up around the bottom there. Little bit more noisey but I found it gave better feel when changing gears.

Yeah they should, just take one in with you. I normally take my bolts to a place near me called national nuts and bolts, they pretty much have everything, but I'm not sure if you will have a place like that locally.
