Hi
I need to know how many times a minute a VN blinker flash's.
If you think its flashing too fast you probably have a globe out somewhere

The makings of the thread of the century....
Ok the reason for me needing to know how many blink's in a minute is because i recently upgraded all my globes to the colored led lights in the VN
The brake light leds work perfect
The leds look like this (picture 1)
The leds in the blinkers flash quicker even tho they are not blown, i have heard you can connect the load resisters (picture 2) up so the leds dont flash faster or slower . Only problem with the load resisters is they get really hot.
So i did a bit of research and i found these relays (picture 3) led electronic flasher relays they make the led blinkers flash at a normal rate and that rate im unsure of cant be bothered counting them flash for a minute. The relays have different rates that they flash at so before i purchase one i need to know how many blinks per minute.
By the time you posted all this you could have counted one at the traffic lights? As the guys said 60pm. You can just go to supercheap or any auto store and buy the clear round 12v electronic flasher can for bugger all and they usually only carry the legal ones. They will flash consistantly at the right rate no matter what wattage your bulbs are.
Have fun..........................Pete!
In my car
20 flashes in 14.1 seconds = 85 flashes per minute
I purchased a NARVA LED flasher relay today, after i installed it all the blinkers now flash at the right rate but there is no clicking from the dash when the blinkers are turned on. Any ideas on how to get the click back.
no, the clicking is inside the relay. you will need a different relay that clicks. and i'm pretty sure your blinkers started flashing fast when you installed the leds because the leds have a different resistance and tricked the relay into thinking a globe was blown.
the question is this: are the led globes actually worth it?
I thought the clicking came from inside the relay.
Yeah they flashed fast with the original relay.
To tell you the truth probably not worth the hassle but if you never try you wont know, the white reverse leds and the red brake leds look awesome with the clear tail lights.
Its just the orange led blinkers i cant get right, ill have a look for a different relay.
Cheers
look into some of this
you could also just use the led relay but put a small piezoelectric speaker after the relay, but the extra resistance might make your globes flash fast again or even slower.
Review lolz
" This stuff works too good! I had some splash in my eyes, and now my eyes blink constantly." LMAO
Thanks Bax
I fixed the fast flashing only to find out the relay/flasher does not click when the blinkers are turned on.
I need to get another type of relay that clicks, took me a bit to find one with the terminals in the right spot.
That site is funny, good for pulling a few tricks on the mates.
