dash lights

hey guys just got my hands on a level 3 dash cluster, and before i install it i wanna change the lights from the green glow to say white..
one guy said you just gotta change the globes.. but i know when i went to change the center heater control lights to white.. the globes already are white.. and the heater control display has a little green sticker which is what makes it shine through green...

can any help explain how i change the dash cluster so it lights up white, and possibly the centre consol as well?

i changed mine cluster from green to blue trial and error lol i had to scratch the front and back of the speedo and put blue celiphane behind it with blue led lights thats how i did mine but need to re-do it coz like i said trial and error lol

How much time and money do u wanna spend on achieving the white LED look?

Basically 2 change it 2 white u need 2 use an after market dial facia thats been made with no green film on the backs. Unfortunatly u cant remove the green film like u can on the VT/VX's so its the only real way of gettin around it. Least this way u can make up ur own individul colour combos then.

Also note just changing the single globes in replace with just 1 LED in each doesnt work very well as u'll always see hot and dark spots. Theres no single globe replacement on the market that can achieve this so extra and custom work is required.

Troyy glad to see u upgrading to lvl 3 mate. Well you can get special LEDs to do the job, but you will need to open up the digital section of the dash, 88greenvn who did my dash is on this forum and if you get in cnotact with him he can explain to you how you can get it all done yourself and were to get the led's. playing ti basic, the globes in there atm are normal clear ones that shine onto a green piece of plastic and that reflects green through the digital sections, if you remove it it will show up orange, me and 88greenvn think that if you can find a white plastic (like the display folders material) and replace it with that you may get a white light, lemme know how it goes mate.

Dude, i kno 100% that alot of that is false, it does have a removable film and you only need aftermarket leds, for the blue option you need no film, just the led and it doesnt make a led focus point, its spread.

That is 4 the LCD screen ONLY that ur talkin bout not the rest of the cluster. so no its not false.

U can change the single LCD screen globe 4 1 LED, the reason y u can there is they use 4 globes in total which covers more of an area then wat the rest does so u wont get the dark or hot spots, also the LCD screen uses a diffuser 2 spread the light evenly u cant do that on the rest of the cluster.

ohk does any one know where or is able to link me?? to a site where i can get the custom display clusters from??

and a step by step on how to change the colour of the 3 bottom lcd displays to white...

in some pretty good detail as well.

ebay is ur best bet on the after market dials and if u speak 2 shane (88greenvn) im pretty sure he did a write up a while back on how he did his.
