    Talking VN Starting problem AGAIN!

hey guys.. i have posted this once before but this is a different problem on a mates car...

the car will crank and crank but does not kick over.. it just constantly cranks till the battery goes flat...

we pulled a spark plug out and they smelt like petrol... what could this problem be?

the problem started after he changed all his spark plugs.....

any help would be appreciated.. Thanks...

Hey mate.. thanks for the reply.. im in VIC..

we took the spark plug out.. its the one that closest to the front on the right hand side... ( looking toward the car ) .. when we pulled it out there it was we with petrol and a tiny drop leaked out of the spark plug hole...

are we sure that is them because the coil pack and Dfi arent cheap..

Have you checked to see if it has spark? Check all the obvious connections. If the problem started after he changed his spark plugs then it sounds like he has knocked an ignition wire off or something silly like that, maybe plug leads put back on wrong? Check the firing order to see if it is right. Check ignition/engine fuses. It's gotta be something simple.....

    Cheers......................Pete!

Crack it over with one lead off and an old plug in it see if you have spark.

Also can you hear the fuel pump working when the ignition is turned on and off?

ive had the same problem for a while.so i brought a new high torque starter motor but still wouldnt start every now n then, then new bosch alternator still played up then new battery and now its perfect.touch wood lol.so maybe get them tested mate.also try tighting up the alternator belt if loose will help it crank over.cheers

Hey guys thanks heaps for your help..

we ended up ripping out one of the injectors.. when we wriggled it around it just poured out petrol...so replaced that and then ripped all plugs out and gave them a good clean then ripped all leads off cleaned them up a bit as well and re-fitted everything.. beautiful.. car started straight away. :-)

i think he may have had put the leads on wrong...but then the injector should not pour out petrol like that as soon as you wriggle it slightly...
