    Unhappy Vp bt1

    Hi,
I live on the mid north coast, i have owned my VP BT1 S2 for approx. 6yr's. It's my 1st child i love it and cherish it, she's never let me down.
A couple of weeks ago i was at a red light, waiting with 2 cars in front of me when the guy behind me heard someone toot and floored it straight in my rear end.
He pushed my towball straight up into my bumper. It's get's better he was in a hire car. So after heaps of drama and the insults throwen around about why am i so worried it's just a piece of s#%t. Grrrr
They decided to give me $3838.00 for it and i can keep it, but now i have to go through a blue slip, with no extra money to help it through.
Great how do i find something for that price to replace it.
I really want to keep it, but i don't know what to do. It's 16yrs old, it'll need heaps done wont it?
Could someone give me adivce on weather i should cut my losses and move on or do u think it's a sound investment, i get conficting reports.

I would take the tow bar off and have the car stretched on a rack, it might not be perfect but it will pass

hey man, just my 2c, i wouldn't bother fixing it... you'll probably spend most of that money getting it 'half' right, it'll never be perfect.

i don't mean to offend, but that paint looks pretty shabby anyway, you can get a real decent vp for $2000, if you don't mind one in a worse condition $1500 will buy you one. those are easy prices too, if you look hard you can take $500 off both of them. think about it - you then have a second car, still have $2000, swap all the bits over that you like from your car, then strip it, get $500-$1000 in parts, and you'll walk away with $3000 in your pocket

If I was you I would buy a VP Calais, maybe a V6 and then take all your v8 bits out and put it in a Calais. But I love the Calais so I guess im a bit biased
