stupid complicated electrics...

hey guys my car is in a state of distress atm, its not running right, however becides that, the other day it developed this little problem, drivin along, and all of a sudden "BEEP BEEP BEEP!" handbrake light comes up, give the handbrake stick a light hit, and it goes away, comes back, then do it again goes away for 5 mins, sometime stays off for longer or keeps coming on, but what could be the problem here?

complicated electrics? theres like one wire that goes to the handbrake, and if hitting it seems to fix it, why dont you look at that wire. its probably shorting out close to it

complicated becuase; my alarm will go off pretty much every time i open my car after unlocking it with key, and the remote wont work if the car hasnt been started in a few days, and recently something went bad on me and car will hardly run. that means, electrics = bad :P but k i'll have a look tomorrow mate. thx

Sounds like your handbrake switch might be earthing out

Just look for something that looks like a switch around your handbrake.

pull your handbrake up, unzip the cover and with a sort of searching you'll see the switch.

sure its the handbrake light the beep sounds like the press remote beep when the immobiliser needs the button pressed to start the car

nah its not the same as remote beep. its slightly different, but the (P) light comes up, beeps, and the tap it and it goes away. i'll have a look in the light tomorrow, thanks guys.
