well the title pretty much sums it up, but i noticed that i didnt have what i think would be a light that points onto the ignition to put the key in during the dark...
i was wondering whether all commodores came with the light there, i have an vp ss and there isnt a globe or any wiring going to it.
if theres supposed to be one, is there any way i can re wire it up or whatever?
Huh??? My VN exec has one. Is there a hole for one or is it just blank? Also have you taken off the plastic pieces to see if there is any wire there. Its an orange wire and a white wire.
yeah theres a hole in the steering colomn cover, took it off and theres no wires going to it, but theres some other wires beside it, is there a filament or something
You dont need to drop the steering, just slip the wires down - one is whie black and the other is orange black from memory. I patched them into the looom by plug for the interior light behind the drivers kick panel

My bros VN Calais 1988 Series 1 dosent have one and im not sure if its got the wiring for it!
However my VN Calais 1989 Series 1 didnt have one either, but its a Decemeber 89, so its got the XX8 option, thus having the Series 2 loom, so i checked and the wiring was there. Got a globe, popped out the plastic clip and put the green light one in.
Works and for something that took 20 seconds looks cool!
