Default foglight switch going to headlights?

with the switch in the console for the foglights, i have to have the switch on or my headlights will not be on (only parkers) and currently the foglights arent on because i have an exec bar on atm, but ive seen there are the plugs to the foglights (that arent connected) and i thought that it would only be a switch to those wires, so im baffled.

am i missing something or is the switch on the headlight wires ?

if my memory serves me correctly the headlights are wired through the foglamp relay. this is done because if your using fog lights (if fitted)then yo udon't want your headlights on because in foggy conditions it can be worse then not having lights on. all cars are fitted with the foglight base wiring and relay is fitted regardless of model

early models had all the wiring fitted inthe loom but not the dash switch. later models still had the relay fitted but the rest of the loom was removed. i guess to save money. if your car had foggies fitted from the factory the switch would also be fitted. otherwise it would have been blanked off.
