Well the T5 is at least as strong and it will go into the VN without the all clutch/speed sensor troubles you might have with the getrag so there's no need to choose

The Getrag has better ratios & personally i think its a more fun 'box but is more expensive to fix should something go wrong. I have to pull the Getrag outta me mates VT cuz hes done the 2nd gear synchro & also hard to get into 4th.

    sorry for semi hijacking..
i was thinkin bout whether its possible to put my vt getrag into my vp ss, but since its a v6 getrag would it be not as strong as the t5?
what sort of troubles are there if i wanted to stick it in? alot?

The biggest problem you would face is that there are a different amount of splines on the input shaft on V6 and V8 boxes (?).

EDIT: I just beat greenfoam, he will know more about it than I do, so read the post below.

I'm not sure what the difference between the V6 and V8 getrag is, on the T5 the V6 input shaft is longer but the splines are the same so you have to get them machined shorter. The getrag.. who knows they maybe the same or they may also have a longer shaft
