ive fitted a new balancer a wile ago to the vp/v6 and ive noticed that its quiet wobbly at idle ive talked to jason and he thinks it may be the cause of my bottom end knock as it disappears when driving (anything over 1500 rpm )
any thoughts and is the wobble normal ?

What does it feel like at idle? My VS has a faint knock at idle but i'm not sure what it is. Wondering if my problem may be related.
seems ruff in relation to the knock

How tightly did you do the crank bolt on the balancer? Should be at least 200nm if you want it to be tight.
It's also possible that your old balancer, if broken, has moved around enough to cause damage to the front bearing on your crank. If that's the case, prepare to snap a cam
How bad is the wobble?

not huge maybe 1 cm fluctuations at the very most and i did it by hand as tight as i could probably not tight enough i assumed a bearing at the start
just checking all possibles first just to make sure before i do a rebuild

May have wrong balancer on. According to Repco, they list 2 types for vp's. Repco balancer part # hb 1083 for engine #'s up to #127483 and hb1207 for #'s 127484 and greater. I'm not sure what the difference in the balancers is? Hope thats shone some light.
Regards Col P
The balancer you have is for a series 1 vn engine... or its defective .... or as someone said you didnt tighten it up ..
if idiot at repco dropped balancer can stuff it ...

you'll know if it's aVNs1 ballancer because it will slip on without much force. the later ballancers are a interference fit and require some force to get on. later model balancers also have the 3 holes for the puller
have you checked oil pressure? will give a indication of bearing condition. also, what type of oil do you run. if it's to thick it will knock a little on cold start up, if it's to thin it will knock a little when hot

I wonder if the balance shaft was stuffed would cause symptoms like u say ?
Also you put on the car a while ago and was fine but now playing up ?
I know sometimes high revs can throw balancers weights off and slip ... your mrs lead footed ?

i don't think the ballance shaft will be the cause of the knocking. seeing as the ballancer is new i doubt it's failed this quickly.
i'd buy a oil pressure gauge. even a el' cheapo just to see what is happening.
try taking the ballancer back, claiming it's faulty. at worst they say no
