No engine light on ignition

just put a series 1 engine into a series 2 car(s2 engine died)
turned the key on and not getting engine light on the dash and fuel pump not pumping or priming
squirted sum fuel down the throttle body and it started..so i have spark
just no fuel pump and engine light
any help would b appreciated
Is it just your engine light or is it all the red lights that appear when key is turned to on??

did you swap engine harnesses with the engine or use the stock one
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
both red lights come up ..oil and battery...no engine light at all....and fuel doesnt prime
didnt swap the harness as ive read the are basically the same...except the temp sensor is at the back of manifold
i just lengthened the wires
have checked fuses and swapped relays...and tried a different ecu

all ecu power comes from the two plugs by the battery same with fuel pump feed check them plugs are in good and clean.then the only other wire that powers the ecu is in the cabin its pink at the ecu it is the ignition feed to turn the ecu on and off test it for power when the key is on

my vn calais turns over but no ignition lights at all cant hear the fuel pump but no its good and it wont start
checked it this morning and the engine light came on and went off ..then went on again...went to start it and battery was flat ...changed the battery to a charged one and bang it started...havnt had a problem yet
i guess the battery was to flat to power ecu and fuel pump

checked the plugs like you said delcowizzid and they where all gukked up with shite
cleaned and all good
