    Default Recent power loss??

Recently i had my head gaskets replaced, along with the inlet/exhaust manifold gaskets. I was told my heads were shaved 15 thou, and a bent valve fixed...Its all back together and running fine, but i've noticed it hasn't got as much power as it used too. I also fitted a brand new 2.5 inch MagnaFlow exhaust system at the same time. I know i need a new coil pack and my injectors either cleaned or replaced, but any ideas as to why it wouldn't be producing as much power?

bolts need tightening , could be anything ... so there was more power before all the work done ?

could be injectors are stuffed or o rings leaking ,kickdown cable not set correctly , could be dodgy mechanic ...

take it back to where it was fixed..

it just feels less. To the point where even my partner has said it's down on power, so that's saying something. GhostRider, yeah there was more power before i had the work done. It blows absolutely no smoke, and has has no missfire, and generally seems to running in good order (takes a while to start sometimes though...)

The kickdown definately isnt set correctly, i've had a go at adjusting it, but couldn't seem to get it right. If the kickdown isnt set correctly, would that affect it's performance if i was to manually shift it, because i tried that, and there was no increase in performance. Its mainly 0-60 where it's lacking. It had a bit of sting before, but now it's just average. Especially with the new exhaust, i was expecting a slight gain, at the least, but not to go backwards...Really has me scratching my head..Could it be something to do with the work done to the heads before they went back in, as in flow wise??

if bolts on head or inlet manifold gasket not done correctly could be it ..

check to see that all vacum lines are on throttle body ...

you could have a leak on the exhaust manifold , bolts not done up tight enough Im thinking ..

Call person who fixed and have them check over everything ...

could be something as stupid as a loose sparkplug , spark plug leads in wrong order ... etc etc ..
