Thinking of selling, What you think its worth?

Hey All,

Had the brilliant idea to get rid of the VN for a VT or VX wagon the other day! I wouldnt have a clue to start guessing how much my car is worth. So here it goes. I payed originally $2200 for it but have put in a fair bit of work. Specs are:


Model: 1990 VN Executive

Colour: Alpine White

Engine: 3.8L V6 Motor (stock)

Gearbox: 4 Speed Auto

Brakes: Stock

Wheels/Tyres: 17INCH HSV VS Senators

Interior: VS Conversion (dash, front & rear seats, front door trims)

Stereo: Pioneer DEH 2950MP MP3 CD player, 4X Kenwood 6's, Boss Audio 1000W 4 Channel Amp

Other mods include:

• New radiator
• 2x New Starter Motors
• New Sensors
• New Plugs and 13mm Lime Green Leads
• HSV VS Senator Wheels
• Chrome VN Grill
• Stereo Install
• Alarm/Imobiliser
• XEON Headlights
• VR Series 2 Coil Pack
• 2.5 inch catback system
• Altezza Tailights

Now the cons:
368000 on the clock,
engine makes a nasty rattle
dent in the passenger side skirt.

its not for sale as of yet, trying to weigh up if its worth it or not as i love the car to death but need more space for band stuff!!! let me know what you think!

i got my vns1 for racing for 90 or so bucks running add ya stereo gear and mags ya got a price

Most probably around the $1000 mark. Nobody cars about what modifications you have made, they just want a cheap car.

agreed i wouldn't pay anymore than that especially seeing it has the death rattle

I dont rekon any more than $2500 with the rattle in the engine, over 330,000km its likley to be the bearings, the mods wont up the price much but they will make it stand out form the rest.

at the end of the days its just anotha VN and with that many km's you would be lucky to get 700$ id sell the rims seperatly and also the sterio gear there worth more than the car

rattle is most likely balance shaft or timing chain tensioner id say 90% likely timing chain tensioner. my wagon makes a noise which could be termed as a death rattle above idle though it disapears and engine drives and feels perfectly fine otherwise

bought both my cars for under $1000 first was a white vn stock as a rock still with moon hubcaps it was a had 300.000 on clock that was $700 that was 4 years ago, also my currant car was cheap to, had a CAS problem they coulndt find the problem i fixed it the first day i got it lol. strip the car might get more for it that way. good luck.
