    Default VN sump guard? got any pics, im thinking about making one

    i got some 3 - 4mm thick sheet of steel here, thinking about making a sump guard for my vn as it is lowered and it does go offroad quite a bit, anyone got any pictures of a VN-VP sump guard? or any tips of making one? cheers

    Can get pics of my VS one unfitted, and if you wait until after the weekend (hopefully) I can get pics of it fitted.

    Well mine looks the same as markovr's, but I can grab some pics from different angles etc.

    its the same except for the sump plug hole....this one is from a 88 vn with the country pack

    its night time now so i cant exactly have a look, but where does it bolt up? are there holes already there or will i have to get the drill out?

    Not sure about VN, but the VS has the holes already for it in the K-frame. Im putting mine on the hoist and going to weld the nuts to the top of the K-frame as its quite fiddly to get them tigh, otherwise.

    My only other concerns with this is, there will be no air flow over the sump so oil temp will rise, and if scrub was to get caught between the sump and gaurd.

    yeh that oil temp and scrub and shit gettin caught in there would be bad too :/
