    Default boot lock??

okay the key part for the lock on my boot fell apart today... a spring fell off the back aswell as something else.. how to i fix it? lol. also, can i just take it out and bog up the hole and paint it..? as it was just replaced for the roadworthy.. but other cars dont have a key thing? e.g my dads vx, just button in glovebox, and on key, same as mine.. can i just take the whole lock out and bog it??

yeah thats what i thought, got paint and bog and clearcoat and sandpaper, could do it.. and it'd look better, cause my dad goes check mine to see how it fits together, as im walkin out i realised, ******** it dont got one.. why dont i take mine out? lol.. just wanna know if its one of them "if its factory its gotta be there" things.. like mirrors, you can have only one mirror if your cars old enough and came out like that (well it was that, not sure if it is now.. kinda stupid imo) but yeih, as i said. want it out, but dont want a canary cause of a damn boot lock.

probably not legal but very unlikely you will get done for it as long as the cover up is done well most cops wont even notice it
i wont tolerate cretins aiming to cause problems here at jc and nor will i hesitate to let the moderators know

yeah thats what i was thinkin too, so i might just get a can of the correct pain, sand it all back, bog it, sand the bog back, spray it all.. (with compressor and gun..) dont mind if the paint is shit, but so long as the hole hasnt noticibly been bogged..

If the aerial is there, it cant have a sharp edge, so if it has snapped, or chewed off by a cow lol then it will be unroadworthy, removing it all together and filling over the hole would not make it unroadworthy.

I did the same to my VT, I changed the rear boot garnish to a VX one for that reason to get rid of the boot lock and it looks heaps better. Also theres one less lock for thieves to try and pick
