You'll get defected if they are too dark to visibly distinguish between the colours of the different lights (orange indicator, white reverse, red brake)

Just a question: Why would anyone want their tail lights tinted?? Am I missing something??

Thats not the case.
You'll get done if its too dark, i think its 200m on a clear day dont quite me on that, visability.
If its black as, expect a note, if its still clealy visable then i dont see why it would be an issue... up to the cop though.
It is 100% illegal to tint a reflecter though so mask it up.
aZk.
I cant see how it is legal when the lights are there for safety and i think any modification that involes making them darker is illegal but i havent seen a law that says you cant![]()

The night shade can says:'for off-road use only' so I spose thats a fair indicator there illegal. But mine were faded as hell so I thought I would just tint them and put colours bulbs in lol.
mine are black as black when you look at them but when the light is on you can see it and got pulled over last night and the cop asked how i did it so i told him and said thetre fine couse the light still shows through and i used matt black spray paint to tint them and thats on a vs wagon
Thats what i did mine where faded aswell, but after awhile aswell with night shapeds they fade aswell so its not as dark, i have been defected for tinted lights before, only because i was sitting at the lights at night time, with lights on but no foot on break so it wasnt as bright and the cop thought i had my foot on the break :P, its manual btw.

Ive seen plenty of commodores come into the wreckers with tinted tail lights.
And guess what? They all have smashed assends.
Voids insurance too
if you drive a vn you'll get pullled up for sure. I think we just get the most attention from the police than any other commodore
