hi i transplanted a 5l v8 from a 94 ss into a 92 v6 calais.car wont start,just cranks.would it have anything to do with the calais bcm.i cant change it over yet bcoz the plugs are different.also does any one have a pic/diagram of the coil aswell.i think there is a wire missing and i dont know where it goes.any help much appreciated.
sounds about right mate,
the BCM controls the immobilizer system and because that 5lt is out of a ss it should have a immobilizer....
on the ecu forget the wire location-number do remember the colour tho .... pink! check this for 12 vlts.
if that doesn't have 12vlts the bcm isnt speaking to the ecu.
so in turn give it 12vlts
i think you will find you have no injector pulse or spark.
tomorrow ill get the location for that wire and let you know.
bcm are a dog of a thing.
actually can tell you know its A6 should be a pink wire, the location of wires can be found on the plug of the ecu.....
could be wrong that info is from a early 5lt not with the specail key shit but give it a go

if its a VR engine and ecu you need the bcm or the memcal reprogramed to not need the bcm its not like the old style vn and vp where you can just link the pink wire from a6 to power it actually talks to the bcm via the aldl wire ide be getting a memcal reprogrammed with no security its far easier than adding the keyreader and bcm to the vp
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

they also bypass bcms
