    Exclamation Help!!! Fuel pump problem

Okay, this is kinda a last hope here guys, I just replaced my fuel tank, put in my old pump and sender, and now for some reason, I start the engine, I get about 1-2 seconds of firing, then she dies (like running out of fuel) and the pump keeps running for a good 10-15 seconds after I turn the ignition off.

I really need to figure this out ASAP as I kinda need the car running for more than a few seconds.

did you put the fuel pump and sender in the exact way it came out? as in the exact same bolt hole position? if not it wont be able to pick any fuel up to send to the motor.

    you broke whose box george?

as ben said in the quote, pull the hose off hte fuel line and check for fuel sperting out when priming. if none then you have no fuel pressure.. simple!

George, it was put in properly, right holes and all, however, even with the right positioning of the holes, the pump wasnt quite positioned right inside the tank, it took some wriggling and magic to get it to sit properly in the baffle and get the fuel pumping at the right pressure

Hi not sure if anyone would know but i am having trouble with my car accelerating. The car starts fine but when i go to accelerate the car stutters. I find it hard to reach speeds over 80km without the car stuttering.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Fuel pump perhaps?

hey guys sory to steal the thread but have some problems with my fuel pump. i recently replaced it with a brand spanking new pump im 100% sure the conections INSIDE the tank were correct. though the three hoses that lead outside the tank may have been mixed up. The problem im having is that it is hard to start takes me about 15 mins of cranking but she finaly goes. then when i get low on fueal every time i turn right and accelerate the car will conk almost as if its out of fuel but there is fuel in the tank. i own a 1999 VT S S2. if anyone can give me any tips i would be happy. tomorrow im dropping the tank and seeing wats wrong.

you either broke the return hose off the swirlpot or did not reconnect it.
Also check the fuel pump relay and fuse.
