Talking VN X2 12inch Subz in boot....

hey guys.. just need opinions on what sounds better.. i have 2 1500watt DVC subs in my boot of a VN sedan and they are in a big box.. i need to know how to get the best sound with them..they are not in a ported box they are sealed... should i face them toward the front of the car or toward the boot?..

    Cheers guys!

yeah apparently they are meant to face into the boot. why not try both and see which one sounds better?

face it towards the boot and dont push it up agains the back seat, it will sound better in the middle of the boot, when i did my layout for my car they where faced toward the boot and in the middle and it was pretty loud, (rockford) before they where in a seal dual box push up to the back of the seat facing the boot still didnt sound as good but it was ok,

If the subs are face toward the front you will need to push them right to the back of the boot to make them sound any good, but it still wont sound as good as the other way, also if the subs are facing each other on one side to the other side of the boot at the back it sounds good also. i have tested them all.

i have my twin 12's in a box side by side facing the cabin.
when i want to drown the bass a little i close the centre bit of the rear seat.

i think it sounds great that way

but WAY better bass that way.. i like it... i have really bad parcel shelf rattle as-well.. it there anyway to stop all that?... its mostly coming from the parcel shelf itself and the side plastic panels on the parcel shelf area... surrounding the little windows on the rear doors... lol

Is the back seat bit open?, if you dont want rattles you can try sound deadner if you wanted, also with the boot garnish take it off and replace the plastic clips holding it onto the brackets and put Nuts/bolts in it and it will make it stronger, also when putting it back on cut up some 2-3mm rubber or just get some rubber gromets and put it around the bolts that hold the garnish to the car, this will stop rattle also put rubber behind the number plate, if its good rattle you can pump a certain silicon in there to also stop rattles, another this is in the boot there is a vent to the left that comes out near the rear bumper that thing makes a noise with bass just block it off, i used thin sheet metal and silicon it and pop rivits did the job good.

When you face the subs towards the car it doesnt sound as good, but you get less rattles, and no1 can heat it outside the car as you would if you faced it the other way.

You can take them off and refit them with rubber behind, also some clips may be broken with age so it will rattle more, with parcel shelf do the same thing, and make sure its all secure and not going anywhere, if you want yeah can fit some sound deadner under the tray or ontop of it and then put the parcel shelf back on if your not affraid to spen a couple hundred and make your car weight just that little bit extra, personally i am use to rattles lol because i have no deadner in the car, and when i have my 2 rockfords cranked i dont her rattles so its all good,

Also another thing in the boot that will rattle if you dont have boot gas struts are the metal bars to fling the boot up, they go off there head.
