Just remembered: They do a brake and handbrake test up here as well, you'd want to make sure those are working well. (Handbrake, in a commodore? HA! Am I right?)

They work fine when adjusted properly (at the wheels). Adjusting only at the lever when the adjusters at the wheels are out doesnt do shit! Mine couldnt work any better.

Judging by your DP, you have clear taillights? If so, they're also defectable (if you haven't addressed that yet).
Just try and take the car over as stock as possible, with everything in good working order. Make sure all the basics are covered, horn, lights, wipers. No fluid leaks in the engine bay and all your fluids toppped up. Yep, that includes the window washer resivoir
Other than that, good luck mate

Cracks around seat bolts is a default thing. They said my ss had cracks when it didnt. Make sure your "eye level" brake light is there. Also tint on front windows, they dont like that. Make sure the parcel shelf (metal) hasnt been cut for the speakers. Oil leaks, so give it a good degrease. Be nice and just dont expect to be passed the first time. That way if it doesnt pass you wont be so surprised and if it does youl be very surprised lol. Goodluck!

Man, you say some really stupid things.

OP, you wont have to paint your suspension, as long as you cover everything already mentioned (no worn bushes) you'll be fine in that regard.

Yea, could make it look like you are trying to hide something to.

My engineer said when he engineers wheels he checks that no fresh paint has been laid as most people try to hide scuff marks etc from the wheels rubbing.

anything that is non standard change back to non standard if possible. if you have cut metal to put 6x9's in thats instant fail as its counted as structural changes to the chassis. interior lights, neons, dash lights different colour parkers are all shit they will check any rust spots as well

dude i would fix everything and anything on ur car before u take it to regency.
they are a bunch of nazis (in my experince anyway) one of my mates didnt get passed because of a rust spot the size of a 5 cent piece on his torrie. how gay is that... the inspector must have been on his rags...
when i took my vl over there they half ripped the tint off cos it was 1 shade too dark

Yea you have to fix that or atleast make sure it will open for the inspection.

In my vh a few years ago i get defected for drivers side window not being able to wind down completely + no heater = no demister. They said that if id roll the car i wouldnt be able to get out lmfao. If id roll the bloody car im sure more than the windows would be stopping me from getting out.

Is it a regency defect? Even so, still try and take it in to a local cop shop and see if they'll honor it.
a mate has done this a few times and walked way no problems.

My old mans done regency a few times with some peices of shit I never thought would pass, hes a good talker and doesnt stop yabbering (ie: Talking lots of shit non stop), it takes inspectors minds off what there doing, and its seemed to work.

book your appointment for late afternoon on a friday. hopefully they'll be nicer to avoid paperwork on a friday arvo :P. i've done this every time in my VK's (4 times) and have only failed once... (because of leaking diff, no child restraints and 8dB too loud)
