difference between v6 t5 and v8 t5

i was wondering what the difference between a v6 t5 and v8 t5 gearbox as i can get a v6 box for cheap for my vp ss thanks

The gear ratios are slightly different and the V6 input shaft is one inch longer. It can be adpated (cut / machined) to suit the V8 but the price is about the same as getting a V8 box

Theres some info of it in my post would the gear ratios effect if majorly? like for instance if I could only get a hold of a bell housing an a v6 box? (considering putting an v8 in my commy)

Depending on what diff ratio you are running to which gear ratio's in the box would be best.

If running stock diff gears (3.08) then V6 gear ratios are better, if running 3.9's, then the V8 ratios are a bit better. They are can be swapped between boxes as we have done.
