    Default Price check on VP

    Hi guys,

    Just wondering what I would get for a VP Commodore Executive with a few faults here and there.

    Faults are mainly:

    * Roof Liner is caving in
    * Leaking Coolant and Oil from various locations.
    * Paint is coming off
    * Rear bumper needs replacing
    * Interior needs some work.
    * Missing headlight covers.
    * Done 298,000 KM.

    I was aiming for $1000 but not 100% sure.

    Forgot to mention, the heater core has been removed.

    I guess its a trip to the wreckers then, shame.. the car still runs fine otherwise.

    Rego is due March 2010

    clearly you have no idea.

    Roadworthiness certificates : VicRoads

    road worthies are only concerned with safety features of the car, main components that are required for a safe car. so, such extras as heating/AC or power windows don't have to work at all.

    rego is for around 6months, so that's $300 already, if it came with a RWC probably could get around $500 depending on the transmission.
    You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in. This is your wake up call.

    In some situations they will check that the A/C is operating as it is used to demist the front windscreen, as such can be deemed as a traffic hazzard. But as most are saying either scrap it for parts, or take it to wreckers or damaged car auction. Either way it's a stock car so only $300-400 max.

    Best of luck.

    You'll get 300-400 for it no problem, 1000 will be a stretch. You wont get 400 at a wreckers I wouldnt think so may as well sell it to some young kid that can give it one last run. It might even last another 20 years depending on the kid

    i'd have a crack at fixing some stuff first. it's obviuously never gonna be a show stopper, but if you can tidy it up it might add some cash to the sale

    do what i'll do....ill literally run my car into the ground before i sell it. just as its on its way out, i'm going to take it to the track and go ape shit till it plows into the ground and then either toss the keys away or set it on fire :P

    (just kidding, but not kidding about the track part)

    I got my wagon for a $1000, and it is in greater condition than the car you have described. As people have mentioned you'd want to expect around $400 for it.
