Hi I have a VP wagon and the fuel pressure regulator is making a knocking noise that can be herad in side the cab is this normal.

I placed a pice of round wood on the engine and listened all over it and I could only hear the knocking comming from the Fuel pressure regulator.
should I replace it as I don't thing you can repair them.
