Default VP Will not start up First go, But when it does! ... Geez....

    G'day guys

Im having a Problem with my 1992 VP .. good lil girl :P

But, it wont start on first fire up anymore.. It winds and winds.. If I dont use the Throttle a little, it will stall ..

BUT WHEN IT DOES!! A LOT of smoke comes out, smelling like fuel! .. After 3-4 secs of that crap.. She runs fine, not a worry! Very good in Idle.. If I turn the car off and start it back up within 5-10min it fires up one the 1st go. But any longer.. It won't.

Im very sure my Fuel Injectors are rooted, BUT Im not fully sure if this is wrong.. So im asking for anyone who knows of this problem , please help!

    So, this is what Happens:

I turn the key to fire up the Engine, but it winds and winds..n' winds.., I Have to use the Throttle a lil to fire her up. If I dont, it normal stalls out.

When it starts up, a lota smoke comes out the Exhaust smelling like FUEL..
2-3 secs after, shes good.. not a drama to worry about.

What have I done to help the problem?

I have cleaned the Spark Plugs & leads, This DID work!! But only for a day ..
I've put different type of fuel in to see how it goes..But before I changed its fuel I made sure it's close to Empty..

I've checked for any Leaks, but there are none. It doesn't leak any Oil either..

So, if you can help or have ANY! ideas please let me know
    * It has A Pod Filter tho .. Can this cause the engine to stall? Because, when I turn the ignition to fire up, I can hear it sucking rather hard, and Im starting to think.. It's not doing a good enuf job to get air in..

    Any help, would be excellent!
    Thanks

Thought I'd add. I've done a ECU Test, and its "Code 12" Nothing wrong

    ..

ALSO! I checked my Oil Dipstick. It's low, can having low Oil also cause its fail start?
I will be flushin the Oil tomoro aswell

Yes on the money there, it really sounds like a leaking injector, mine did this with blue tops, i thought they where just way to big but the fuel was pissing out of it real fast, yours would jsut be leaking slowly then clearing up, to test it take the fuel rail off just pop the injectors out of the manifold and prime it with all hoses connected and you will find out what one it is.

The Injectors are shagged. EVERY one of the O'rings on em are all broken..
and the Throttle Body needs a clean to, it's got some gunk n' crap down there

But, Im not pissed off in anyway.. The Injectors are stock, and have never been replaced since it was Made.. ;p So, it's only fair it should happen now ..

The cost of six new ones are $155

Thought i'd throw some more info for other people ..

Just Today, (Yesterday, coz its 12.53am lol) I flushed the engine out of its old crap oil.. Put the new stuff and she starts up a lot more quicker! :P - But not to my liking.

    Fuel Injectors are still shagged
I will replace sometime next week.. When I do, I will reply here with my results

Broken "O" rings isn't an indication that the injectors are faulty, the only effect broken "o" rings will do is cause the engine to suck in more air making it run rich.

If you have changed the oil, the compression might be slightly higher now causing it to combust the fuel better.

Yes everyone is on the money in regards to injectors, but the quickest test is.

    Test 1.
    - remove fuel pump fuse
    - crank motor
(if motor fires quickly, then yes too much fuel).

    Test 2.
    - remove fuel rails with injectors still connected.
    - place a rag under all injectors,
    - quick crank motor - less than a min.
    - replace rag with paper towel, making sure all injectors are wiped dry.
    - check paper towels after 10 -15 minutes
(if you can see that a towel or towels are getting moist - and the rest are dry) you'll only need to replace those injectors and then just replace the "o" rings for the rest.

    Test 3.
Replace all, get some lunch- Game over LOL.

    Thanks

LOL! Thanks for the tip with the Fuse.

It Fired up on it 2nd wind! Then 2secs later it died.

SO I put the fuse back in..and it fired up First Go lol.

I will try again in 30min to see if it starts up first go, if not. Then I try test 2

    thanks!!

just watch out with all the o rings, especially the ones from the fuel rail to the injector. they're probably pretty old and dead, if you're messing with them you might kill them so it mght be a good idea to put new ones on while you're at it.
