    Unhappy fan swich prob...

    hi there guys i have a problem with the misters vn (toyota lexcen) fan switch. it seems to have no power from fan speed 1 & 2 but 3 & 4 work fine any info is appreciated.

    i have this same thing and to me its not so much that 1 & 2 don't have power but just that the car is old enough that fan speeds 1&2 are just ****ing gutless being that the car is like 20 - i just use 3 & 4 it doesn't particularily bother me. But some do cut out which i think you have to replace the actual airbox to fix - and to be honest with a vn u could buy one that works cheaper & with less effort then replacing the airbox - it involves removing entire dash yay! haha

    thanks ghog1726 i thought if it was easy enough just fix it, i hate it when you see them turn it on its bloody cold and just at the right height aimed at your face lol.

    It should be an easy enough fix though; try the fan speed resistor. That should also work for the slow fan motor speed on 1 and 2. See the "How To" section for a step by step. An inoperative fan on a couple of speeds might, less commonly, also be down to the switch itself.

    Replacing the Fan Speed Resistor

    Instead of getting one from holden i fixed mine with ceramic resisters.
