Blown stroker?

I have a vn 5 liter with a HDT Aero body kit and i am looking into stroking out my 304 to a 355 and want to supercharge it(under bonnet). i want to get about 500rwhp (so i can beat my mates turbo sylvia at summernats 2010) i want to find a vt roller block for the job as i have heard they are a much better block. what exactly is better about them??? also i would like to run some group a twin throttle bodies but can you run a supercharger with them?

You sure can run a blower with twin throats dude.

A blown 355 is capable of making 500+ HP, throw a nice cam in it too. The VT roller block had the roller cam in it didn't it?

Thats good to know i reckon the group a manifolds look awesome. i was reading an old forum about 355 stroker kits and come racing was thrown out as probably the pick of the lot for the kit. is this still the case or is there someone else on the market? i want to spend my money locally in Australia.

I'd probably go C.O.M.E over anything else PERSONALLY, Harrop are a good choice also.

Or go find a VT 5.7 stroker and strap a blower on that

True, or do that. Might get slightly better results with a fresh 355 from scratch though. Complete rebuild with 355 stroker crank etc, some good bits and pieces.


For easy quick power, just strap a blower on an LS1.

correct me if im wrong but i dont think there is much difference between the vn and vt blocks, except for the fact that VS and VT blocks have more clearance where the crank goes because something easier for the holden 215i engines, or something like that, but 500hp is pretty achievable with a blown and stroked engine..chuck up a thread bout ur car man

what state are you in? I know a few crazy engine builders in Vic that do heaps of race engines if your looking?

CVE Performance did Moe's VN SS, "MYSS8U".

That is a twin throttled, cammed and blown 355 VN SS. That thing is absoloutly spastic. Made 470rwkw on a Dyno Dynamics dyno.

crane make roller lifters that fit into non roller blocks, you just need the cam and different pushrods.

I have gone a way from the Holden 5 liter now. I have it confirmed that i will be getting a stroked LS2 for even more punch. There will be no blower but high compression. I will have a complete parts list in the next week so i will be sure to let you all know all the goodies there will be in there. I just need to sort out a gearbox now.
