    Default Cable

    Heyyy all

In light of me having blown my big end bearing and deciding to put in a new engine i decided to buy a vn wagon for $80 and take the engine and trans out and put the engine into my car.

I was taking the engine and trans out and just as the eninge and trans were coming out i saw that a cable which usally is connected to the throttle goes into the trans

I was just wondering if any1 knew what It is and what it does.

    Cheers Tyrone

Kick down cable.... Makes the gearbox kick down a gear when a certain amount of throttle is applied, i.e Going un steep hills.

It vanishes lol. Its not needed, for obvious reasons, so it just gets disconnected.

It can be adjusted, but all it will do is change at what throttle percentage it kicks down, if you set it to low its going to be a royal pain in the ass, if you set it to high, you will be using more throttle to get it to kick down.

No, if you disconnect it from the bracket that its sitting on the elbo near the Throttle body you will have to adjust it, if you dont know how to adjust it i suggest leaving it alone lol
