Dont quote me on any of this as im not 100% sure.

But i think gas burns hotter than normal petrol - Which is what that oil is suited for: higher temperatures.

Using it on a petrol engine shouldnt do any real harm - But the oil isn't completely suited for petrol engines which is why it says for Gas powered motors on the bottle.

So, I think you can keep using it and wont have any hassles really, but using the oil thats made for your type of car is the sensible choice.

I dont think it would make a difference. I read into it once, and LPG causes the oil to become a bit acidic, which additives in the LPG oil helps prevent.

And why is HPR crap? HPR 30 ftw!

i did some research on oils before, from what i read it doesn't really matter what oil you use, as long as you choose the correct one for your car. don't know about the buick v6s, but for 5ltrs just pick a mineral based oil. synthetic is a bit too harsh on the bearings. i use valvoline xld premium, costs $20. i honestly don't know what to believe, some people swear by expensive oils, but i've been running the xld for a while now and haven't had any problems at all so i'm not going to spend all my cash on expensive oils.

hey mate, i found that HPR burnt really quick.. compared .. i thought because it was semi sinthetic,it only lasted me like 4,000km... i had a everyday driving in there which was cheaper and lasted like 6,000km.... maybie its becuse i use an engine cleaner b4 i put the hpr in... which maybie still had a lot of crap sitin in the engine and mixed with the HPR and went black quicker.. im not sure.

Engine cleaner WILL do that. Also keep in mind the Penrite oils are good at removing carbon from your engine, so they will change colour quickly.

Remember though - they are an SM grade oil (I think), and they have a very high tollerance for contamination. Just because the oil has turned black, doesn't mean it's lost its ability to mantain a strong film around your bearings. You'll probably find that Penrite HPR oils are good for up to 10,000km before they really need changing - depending on your driving style.
