boot release not working?

hi all, i have a vn v6 1990, and the boot release button stopped working, wheres the fuse for this?, ive checked plugs and all that still nto working, hate using key now

do you mean the lever next to the seat? or do you have it on the keyring?

Is it an electronic boot release? It's possible the actuator in the boot is dead. Does the key work? Or is the whole latch mechanism jammed?

its the button in the glove box, there is no manual one? and the key works fine

thing is it used to work, but it was dodgey, like sometime you had to press down on the boot a bit cause it would make a noise but not open, now no noise no nothing,

how much is an actuator?

You're probably looking at about $20 for a second handy on ebay, there's quite a few from time to time. Sounds like the release wasn't properly aligned (hence the struggle to open it sometimes), and the extra effort has worn down and broken the actuator.

If you can't find one on ebay, try a local wrecker. There's bound to be a calais somewhere.
