Hey I have got a 1990 Vn and the odometer has gone and the fuel gauge rarely works I want to put in a new cluster jsut wondering what will fit and work. Will a VS level 2 cluster work or are they not compatable.
People have had varied results.
If I was you, try and find a VN level 2 cluster (tacho / spd / fuel / temp). Try to stick with the genuine stuff.
I know ppl have got VP stuff to work, but others have had troubles like the check engine lamp flashing when you use the indicators etc.
I think the VS cluster had a different shape (correct me if im wrong). It also had the digital odo. Im guessing they probably changed the plugs on the back.
Hi Ya
I have a level 2 Vn Cluster I just pulled out of my VN Wagon I am selling off. It works a treat. I tried it in my VP wagon but no cigar. Im In Sydney where are you at ? Maybe we could work something out.

Are you sure a vr or vs cluster wont fit cause a few of the other threads say they do if anyone knows for sure can they let me know as i might be able to get a cheap vr one soon.
iv heard that a VR-S Claster does fit but you'll have smoke poring from your dash, it would be the Claster smoking away. but im only going from what iv been told or heard. (correct me if im wrong plz lol)![]()
VN VP VR and all their models will go straight in.. VS nuh uh
Calais clusters (electronical, will require extra looming or else yes you will fry the cluster and your car)
i say this because this is the experience i've had with clusters ...
I changed my VN BT1 Level 1 dash for a VP Lexcen CSI (blue backlights level 2) straight in, tacho worked, speedo worked temp worked everything.
mate dropped a VR Berlina dash in his VN commo and it worked straight away, no messing around with anything no problems..
Does the Lexen CSI cluster have BLUE ILLUMINATION?????
I NEED ONE NOW!!! I hate that green and orange, it annoys me every time I use the headlights!
Are they easy to come by?
have you got a pic of the csi cluster.
sounds interesting
OK sounds like a plan i will dump a VR cluster in her and hope i dont blow my car up. How do you change the illumination lamps cause blue would sure look sweet.
If your talking about the whole Dash, VN will fit VP, and VR and Vs are compatible.
The level of dash also varies, trying to put a level 3 dash into a lower spec, will work, with some mods to the loom.
When talking about changing the dials, they are interchangeble through the levels, for instance, i have a VS HSV speedo in my VP Calais, they work because there both level 3.

If the lettering / needles are orange or green (like in VP,VN) you cant put blue lighting in them. You will need to get a new faceplate (there is a thread about this somewhere).Originally Posted by diggler85
If you put the blue leds in, the green will show as brown, and the red / orange will appear black. Its kinda like mixing paints, putting blue into red paint isnt going to make it bluer, just browny...
