    Talking Redback EXTRACTORS!

hey guys.. i own a VN V6 S1 Exec sedan, just wanting a few opinions.. i have a 2 1/2 in Redback Cat back system with a hotdog and straight through muffler...

what are Redback Extractors like, are they any good.. what are they compared to Genie and Pacemaker?

if anyone has them some pics and possibly a Vid on how it sound would be great! ( if anyone can be bothered attaching it..LOL..)

    thanks in advance guys

mate, they are the cheapy version of extractors, flow is not really any better than running a set of S2 cast iron headers.

IMHO, the best ones for a 3800 are HM extractors... according to all the research, they give the best pwoer and torque gains across the entire RPM range. This is apparently due to them being specifically designed for the 3800 engine (primary pipe size/length/collector location etc) , whereas others (redback, Genie, Pacemakers) will bolt onto a 3800 but were not designed with the 3800s compression/cam specs/rpm range/torque and power characteristics in mind... others will give gains in mid-range, down low or up top, but the HMs show gains everywhere.

Only negative thing i found with the HMs was noise under the bonnet was a bit louder, as the HMs arent a hugely thick pipe construction.

I have redback exractors... which you will find are actually 'wildcat' extractors.... Mine go great with a full 2.5in straight through exhaust.
The bloke at the exhaust shop was a fan --- he said they out performed a set of pacemakers on the dyno.
Anyway i am happy with mine .... here is a clip to show you the exhaust note they help give.

Too noisy. anyone know what set up might give you a subtler sound with extractors. Does that vr have the rear res?

hey mate... how much do a set of HM go these days?.. and also how much would a set of Redbacks go for?

i head that the Redback are not madrel bent and they are equivelant to Genies..
Redback, Genie, Paceys, ect are all good at either Low range or High range... is this tru???

and that HM are good perfomance all round?

the reason is that im asking is because i can get a set of Redback extractors from a mate for $70.. im not to woried about performance to much, but i do wanna feel the diffrence and i want a bit extra sound aswell..

what shoud i do... get the redbacks or spend alot extra and get a propper set of HM's?

I would recommend getting those Redbacks(wildcats)....for that price you cant go wrong. No need to buy super expensive headers for a stock N/A buick unless you have future plans.
Mine cost heaps though cause i bought them from the exhaust shop.... I reckon they will work well for your engine.

Oh yeah ... the redbacks are not mandrel bent.

HM's are $540 and they are stainless.

    Wildcats are $345.

I can do a cheaper set called Tiger for $295.

Hey Guys, i ended up getting the REDBACK's.. i have installed them......BUT.. its a pain in the ass with the left side because i have a S1.. anyway they are in but i have a big problem getting the two bolts in from there the bold has to go through the Stainless steel coolant pipe then through the extractor then into the block.. has anyone else had this problem.. are they alot harder than the rest... are they a different bolt to the others? ( shorter, fatter? ) im using the existing bolts from the original headerz..

    PLEASE HELP!!

    thanks guys.. greatly appreciate it...
