A search may find this and give you more detail as its been covered a few times, but meh search lol.

They leak from the rear 1/4 windows, and the tail lights. Not sure on 1/4 windows, but for the tail lights people just use silicone* around the edges etc and fit them back in.

*When using silicone be careful as some a prone to causing rust.

Nah thats cool, search does my head in, never find what you want, but it is out there lol.

Nah sorry, I would assume aslong as its safe on metals it should be sweet, any place like R&E, Repco, or Autobahn should stock it. I think its more of problem for tightarses who use plumbers silicone out of a caulking tube.

get in the boot with a torch and get someone else to hose the shit out of your car. you need to find out where it's coming from before putting silicone everywhere. i saw a tut once on the rear 1/4s, you need to take them out and re-seal. good tut.

Usually on VN/VP/VQ the common places for water to get into the boot are.

    1. Cracked Rear Light lenses or the rubber seal behind them not sealing firmly. Fix , silicon the edges.
    2. The boot rubber running around the mouth of the boot where the boot lid sits on. Fix Replace etc.
    3. Rear quarter panels near the rear window. They often develop rust and leak, so find a good windscreen sealant.

Done deal. On the VR/VS they changed the design as it was a very common problem.

    Hope this helps
