Handbrake handle thing

How do i take it off? I've got an after market one I want to put on.. I can take it off right?..

It just takes a bit of force, its been on there for 20 years so they don't like to budge at first.

I cant seem to get a good grip on it, any sugestions?

Maybe wipe it done if its got something slippery on it. You should be able to get it eventually though.

or get some multi grips on it to give it a bit of a twist then do it by hand

I took mine off last week. I got a new alloy one so i just cut the old one off. looks like it was stuck on there with some glue. I tryed twisting and pulling but nothing. so just cut it off.. dont think you will use it again.
