JUST STARTED MOTOR ON PETROL, WENT TOO MOVE AND BACKFIRED, BLEW APART ROCKER COVER ON LEFT HEAD, ANY IDEAS WHY IT HAS DONE THIS,
RECO MOTOR 10k AGO ?

Sounds like it's had LPG left on and filled the inside the engine and somehow ignited, I've heard of motors blowing apart like that when filled with nos, can't see it happening with at least lpg being involed

i was about to suggest LPG ive seen several engines of all types blow holes in sumps and rocker covers and just about any part of an engine if it dose have lpg it may also be a leak maybe your safety shut off valve isnt working and was leaking lpg wile trying to run on fuel its either that or ya have thrown something threw the cover like a rocker or something

i'm with greenfoam, sounds like an explosive mixture of gas / air / fuel and probaly a little spark has formed in your rocker cover and gone kaboom. better get to the bottom of that mate, your bonnet could be next lol.

i have seen a pic of a vn 5ltr rocker cover blown apart cos of the owner putting the leads on ass about, it open up like a tin can

theres something to hang up on the wall, I've seen a lot of things break, definitely not a rocker cover. I have now!
Holy s**t ya did a good job there mate.I blow an the box and filter to bits with a back fire back when the vp on lpg,but nothing like that dam.
