whilst driving with a mate in his vp, we discovered it makes a loud banging noise whilst driving, anyone know what this could be?
can you narrow it down any?
like where's it coming from, what speed/revs, on rough or smooth roads.
person locked in the boot trying to get out.
Seriously man put a few more details up or you will get crap answers like mine.
happens on any roads really, sounds like a loud pop, coming from the left hand side of the engine, happens throughout many different speeds and such,
Back fire maybe.

if it was backfire wouldnt it be coming from the rear?
is the car on gas? i haven't run a car on gas but i know they can backfire and it comes out the airbox. it kills pod filters on peoples cars.
Had a mates whos did the same and it was definately coming through his airbox as it kept popping it open.He would notice the clips were off in a couple of spots and his mechanic said to use premium fuels as the cheaper stuff can cause build ups or some crap and cause missfiring or backfiring. He sold that v shortly after and his new one has not done it since.
turns out the noise has gone.. still no idea what it was tho.
Probly nothing. But check the Strut. .
When ever I went driving I'd hear a Knock every so often. Mainly from speeds up from 30km/h.
It was my Strut, every time I used more throttle It would cause the Strut to Knock..
Also, Check your Pod Filter or Pannel Filter (What ever you use) and make sure it's clean..and doesn't have any crap on it![]()
Ah.. Very random
get ya mate to check his Pod Filter or Pannel and give it a clean to be safe![]()
could'a been that, think he just put a new pod filter in the day or so before it happened.
i heard a story of mobile selling a REALLY bad batch of petrol recently, caused damage to ALOT of cars, not sure how true the rumor was but its something to keep in mind.
there is only 2 refineries in Victoria, Mobile and Shell, so could be %50 of servo's out there with bad fuel. (bp98 is imported from WA)
