Default what's it worth, worked buick 6?

i'm gonna sell the old v6 from my car to make some cash and clear room in my garage.

it's got heads shaved 15tho, and ported to flow 295hp with 75%exhaust flow.
    wade 992a reground cam
shims and crow pushrods to handle the regrind/heads
    pacies with longer collectors
exedy hd clutch (might sell this with the t5 tho)
    rad blue painted rocker covers
ngk iridium plugs and top gun 9mm leads

    bad points
welch plugs probably need doing on the back of the engine, i saw some coolant dripping from the bottom of the bellhousing the other day.
when the cam wen int the sump gasket got killed on the front under the timing cover, it's been puttied and holding for 2 years now tho.

it's got about 180k on the clock and i don't know what's a reasonable price to ask. i seen some buicks go for 100-200 on ebay, but they're stockers. i was hoping i could get a bit more.

i have some welch plugs to go in, i guess i could do that before selling

    edit
i'd also sell the loom and computer with it. as well as foam's tune for it.

Give me an email when you get a price in your head because i am after a decent motor for a project. So what would need to be done to the sump again?

sump just needs a new gasket. they apparently swell when they get old and if you take the timing cover off and put it back on the swelled ones won't seal.
the putty was just a quick fix that held so i left it there.

he bent the lip on the front of the sump when changing timing chain from the sounds of it.

This motor is still number 10 on the NA V6 power list on SC. The heads on it are _awesome_ and it could make alot more power than 140 with a bigger cam etc. Much cheaper option than building your own

i'd say so. it hasn't dropped oil since the cam was put in, but i'd say give it a new gasket to start with and if that doesn't help then 2nd hand sump time.

Just remember it's got a $1000 set of heads on it, so it's not going to be a 200 dollar motor

So you are willing to stake your reputation on how good the motor is then?I can buy a fully worked v6 for around the $650 mark with around 200,000 klms.I am just waiting for a price and then i will decide. It sounds like its got all the goodies and does not need a hell of a lot of work at all.If the price is not right for me then no doubt it will be right for someone else and i will lose out in the end or simply buy a 5l and work that.

Just out of curiosity, whats fully worked? IMO, an engine is never "fully worked"....

Me personally with the dyno chart a chip to suit and a accurate list of mods, bearing in mind the age would go around $500 for it. Without flywheel and clutch.
Put the flywheel on and add 150 - 200 to the price.

Centy that's not far off the mark. But for the price of a set of new extractors that will give you 3rwkw, gaining 40, that would be the bargin of all time, You guys really had to see these heads to understand how good they are, that's why it makes the power it does. Pretty sure its the same guy that did the head on Luke's RB

where'd luke get his rb head done? i just assumed he got it at SPP in ballarat where he got his plenum and runners honed. these ones came down from qld.
i chucked up a thread in for sale including stacks of extra bits that might be needed like k frame, radiator, CAI.

you would prbably get more if you sold the heads seperate then part out the rest of it.
not a lot of performance parts for these around forsale secondhand.

Fix the sump and gasket + welsh plug and you will have yourself a $500 motor on ebay.

I have a ''fully worked'' 3800 buick in my vp that make over 250hp@wheels and thats with a shit single spinning diff and and super f**ked gear box that takes like 3secs to get in to gear. So then get that fixed it will all good .so i would say a ''worked buick v6 is worth it.
