G'day all
I am debadging the vp.I have removed the ''Holden''&''commodore from the boot lid easly but iam having a problems removing the ''3.8 v6'' stickers under the flashers on the quater panels.Any one got any ideas? Thanks
Stickers? I thought they were badges?
Anywho... Have you tried searching the forum? Might be suprised with what you'll find.
Have you tried the fishing line cutting method?
Try tipping some metho between the badges and the gaurd to soften the glue.
Or if you have a hairdryer handy heat the badge to soften the tape behind it.
Sounds like they might have used sikaflex on it (hope not)
Try the metho first, fish line it whilst the methos wet.
Metho wont wreck paint, wont hurt to put a coat of polish on after though.
sikaflex it's fking c
t of a stuff.Got it off with a razer blade and a good hand.metho to remove the last of the stuff and quick wash&polish.Iam happy with the outcome thanks for you help mate

as for someone who has done it..
use a heat gun warm it up... a lot
use fishing line to get behind it and go slow, keep the heat on it
the ktiten black cut n polish after that to get the last of it off
the heat gun idea is good in theory, but man you have to have a lot of patience. i took the side plastic strips off my vn berlina, that run from bumper to bumper held on by sikaflex and hate. took ages.
i got so frustated ended up using a sharpened putty knife on it, then trying to sand some of it off with wet and dry. got most of it down flush almost with body work and repainted it. came up pretty good, but i have to say if im not making a showcar so i wasnt hell fussed with the paint. really changed the look of the care when they were gone though.
its not the years in your life, but the life in your years.
Have a Squiz..
Debadge your car in 10 minutes, WARNING dial up users
yep need lotsa patience to use heat but on mine it got 99 percent of the sikaflex off the side strips.. and better still no paint loss
thanks everone
My dad used a Fein multimaster to take ours off. Bloody worked perfectly
