Hi, I just had the CAS replaced on my VP yesterday and now when i'm driving the car will just accelerate by itself, it will go up to about 20 kPH then go back to normal. I'm pretty pissed of about this, i was charged $240.00 for only an hours work.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I just checked the fault codes again and it's still coming up CAS. Someone said the computer needs to be reset?
I don't see the throttle cable either..
You know where the throttle body is? There is a steel plate attached to the top of it, there is a skinny steel cable connected to that plate, that's the throttle cable / accelerator cable.

its a cow anal suppressor or Crank Angle Sensor. detects the position of the crank shaft so the injectors and coils know when to fire.
revving to 3000 rpm for 12 seconds does not reset it, otherwise every time your coasting under load it'd be doing all kinds of weird shit.
Revving to 3000rpm after disconnecting power does have an effect on the ecu but only after it looses power.
disconnect power reconnect power, bam reset.
if they ****ed the job up and the sensor is telling the ecu +15deg = 10deg (the buick runs +10deg base timing) then your car will idle higher causing it to accelerate on its own (also check throttle cable) i had this happen when i rotated my dissy on my v8. bad news for you. you cant check it with a buick as there is no timing notches and it runs a optical CAS insted of a hall effect.
check the throttle cable, if that's not the issue, take it back and demand they fix it for no extra cost. if they want to start replacing parts tell them its not good enough.
