Check to see if the car has logged any codes to help point you in the correct area.

My 5.0 VQ Stato did the same thing the other day. I had been travelling for about 2 hours straight then it just stopped. Rolled off the road, poked a few things, swapped a couple of relays around and away it went. Never done it before or since! Keeps ya on ya toes though, wondering when it is going to happen again???
Cheers......................Pete!
Just recently got a second car (VP Exec), mine does it too... very random stalls... might be a couple of days to a week before it happens again. The good thing is that the car always starts straight away after a each stall. Although kinda annoying that it mysteriously stalls. Just hate to be in single lane pace traffic if it happens.
Replaced TPS & IAC Sensor. Cleaned TB. (Idles nicely now. Perfect.)
Replaced Battery. (Thought the old battery was going but problem still occurs with new heavy duty battery.)
Does not show Engine Light when it occurs. Diagnostic Trouble codes says Code 12 which is meant be Normal OK.
Dunno what else it could be???
crank angle sensor or the security key in the passenger door shut are the most popular
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

hey thanks, im gonna first try switching off the immobiliser (security key) each time i drive around and see how it goes for the next week or so.
dont mess with the key if you dont have to they are known to die easily if you dont use the key fob to unlock the doors its allready turned off which is when they have all there dramas the contacts corrode and then you hit a bump and it turns off

to save me the hassles i decided i'm gonna fit a car alarm with its own immobiliser rather than use the one in there already... i like the keyless entry factor.
