Vn-vr v6 auto wanted urgently

hey guys, just wondering if there is anyone out there in forum world,

That would happen to have a VN-VR V6 Auto lying around, in good nick, LOW km's, and located in melbourne, can only travel 10km from home to pick up, located S.E. suburbs (moorabbin).

will pay with cash, am just in a bit of a pickle atm, cos mine has lost 3rd and overdrive, just goes into neutral after 3500 rpm in 2nd gear, and just doesn't wanna shift up.


PLEASE HELP ME, if no auto by the morning i'll be heading to the wreckers, but i would rather give the money to someone that needs it, than a money hungry wreckers..

mate look in the forsale section.
specify what type of box you want to.
vn/p will not fit vr and same other way around.

Ive got one, bit far away though. Been sitting in my shed since the manual conversion back in feb/march. Have advertised it locally for $100 but only ever got one call which fell through.

i was told that vn to VR boxes are the same, the vs is the different one, being electric

i have a VN, that has a stuffed vn auto, but i have a VS ecotec running as a VN V6, so whatever can bolt up, and i have looked in the f/s section there, nothing close to me, and everything eles is interstate

but if it has to be, i'm after a vn/vp box, all i know it's T700 i'm after???

what's the your box like: re, condition, km's good smooth shift's???

that's really funny that you live in the yarra valley, lol cos i got my VS engine from launching place, but sorry not about to drive that far with only 2 gears.

unless you feel like comeing for a drive tomoz/today, can pay for petrol.

From what I remember the box drove fine apart from the shagged flex plate. I pretty much bought the car, drove it home from Dandenong then ripped the trans out because I had a T5 waiting here. I do remember noticing it downshift as I slowed down so it did feel nice and tight. Car doesnt have the original motor so dont have a clue about km's.

Sorry wouldnt be able to drive out tomorrow. Yeah launch is 10mins away from me lol

cos i really don't see me getting a box for less then 250 from the wreckers.. and then i'm still unsure of how it would be!!!!

VR & VS boxes are electric

VN & VP boxes are Kickdown cable/Non electric style setups.

I doubt you have lost gears, Sounds like Kickdown cable/fluid issues mate.

Start the car & let it idle up to operating temperature, Then check the dipstick fluid level for the transmission while the car is running.

yeah tried holmart, there not wrecking anymore, and allcomm round the corner ain't got one either.

hey matty(hozy) i can tell you it's gone, i had a tranny guy look at it, but oh well more money.

so what you guys are saying that i need a 3hdd or 4hdd tranny??? and what's the difference.

lol $450 min for a change over box... or lol $150 from centre rd wreckers, me pulling the tranny out.

hey guys just to let you know was able to get one from centre rd wreckers for $80 with a 30 day warranty...!!!!!

and to let everyone know i have got a 9HDM with 247K on the clock, only 8k more than mine, seem okay, so we'll see i guess

Anythingfrom a vn or vp will fit.
vr will NOT fit.
look for low km's and nice red fluid.
if it's brown or black then it's probably cactus.
vn just went to the dump here because the engine over heated and cooked.
he would charge about $60 if you take it out but to far from you.

I had a look today at getting out the Auto, and I think its beyond me. I would have to do it on my own, and I don't think I am strong enough. I have put the car up on Ebay for $50 if anyone wants a bargain. At least the wheels are worth more than that by a fair bit.

na man the auto's easy to get out just need some patiance!!!!

like i didn't have but had to have, asnd to report from a few days later, car drive so nicely, but kinda slips before it goes into 3rd and second sometimes, on really light throttle, but apart from that she just purrs along!!!!
