If I remember correctly - no. Some modifications need to be made.

the only real thing is the PCV valve hole in the drivers side head isnt there on the S1 engine it can be drilled or you can continue to use the VN style PCV setup.apart from that its a straight bolt on will need a S2 radiator too or you will have nowhere to fill the radiator from

I was gonna say, didn't the manifold come with provision for the thermostat housing?

it will bolt up, as delco mentioned you will need to modify the PVC and alter the cooling system to suit. i don't really see the point in doing the conversion though. nothing to be gained from it other then simplifying the changing of the thermostat

The series 2 manifold is better, it'll be worth a couple HP somewhere, I'd do the swap if I was still V6ing

a lot of work for "a couple HP somewhere"

if your gonna do a manifold swap, turn it around so the TB faces the front of the car, off course to do that you need to move the alternator but that would be a worthwile effort, then you could setup a proper OTRCAI

don't think you have to, but the later tunes are better. greenfoam is the man to ask on that.

no, the s1 has a different cam. will run crap with a later s2 tune. you want a SV3800 based tune to suit yours.

either delcowizzid or greenfoam or the people to speak too about a tune

I've not been able to find the specs on the Series 1 cam. I know the one with supposed heaps of lift was only used on early cars, maybe only 88' cars, not all series 1's, there may or may not have been an inbetween cam before the normal V6 cam came around

The Series 2 VN VP VR cam is as follows (for future reference)

Made by Cam Dynamics p/n 973221
    Non-Flanged - GM Holden P/N 24503401
    Duration @ .050 Intake 182, Exhaust 190
    Intake Open -21.5, Close 23.5
    Exhaust Open 27.5, Close -17.5
Lobe Lift intake .2531, Exhaust .255
    LSA 112.5

Untill Crane went broke this was still made under the Blue Racer name (They bought cam dynamics and kept making them under that name) but I doubt you can get it anymore

yeah not sure what mine would be am happy with the SV3800 chip so far anyway. mine is a 1991 S1 with 190 000k's on the clock. but has a S2 instrument cluster in it so i think she was a bit of both right on the change over i guess

The rockers on each of the series are different to, i just had a thought if the series one rockers are a larger bolt width, would it be possible to drill and tap the series 2 heads rockers to fit?
