Engine noise not sure wat

ey all first time post i have this noise coming from my engine i thought it might have been the leads and plugs but that has been changed. the noise is a tapping type of noise and goes away the higher the revs get any ideas?

sounds to me like tappets and as the rpm's gets higher they get oil!

so check your oil level and maybe change it for a thincker oil ir get you tappets adjusted

1st one would be cheaper thou!

yeah change your oil ... its probably old and gone too thin/watery

you may also have a blockage in the oil galleries and or your oil pump might be on its way out ....

first thing ... do an oil engine flush ... nulon sell a good one ... after that ... put new filter and oil ... if problems still there ... tappets might be stuffed ...

my engine got 220,000 on it and ticks on cold start ups ... then goes away ..

i had same problem, in my case a new set of roller lifters fixed it. b4 that i tried that lifter free stuff, then fresh oil and that made a little difference. that led me to blame the lifters. before u go pulling stuff apart, also check for exhaust manifold leaks and loose bolts. a mates had loose bolts,that sounded like lifters.if hi k's also consider timing chain and or guides. good luck.

yeah the exhaust its pretty gone i will change the oil and filter the noise is coming from somewere around the bottom passenger side of the engine

its only takes 2 or 3 hrs at most. a bit longer if u havent done it, i guess a mechanic mite charge u 4 hrs worth of labour [bout 320ish] plus around 22- 26 bux per lifter. at $25 per lifter it comes to bout 620ish including labour. u may want to get new valley gasket and rocker cover gaskets aswell. as old ones sometimes leak once disturbed. good luck.
