Hi guys,
I have read with interest several threads on this and other forums on the subject of vibrations on vn and vp,s. I have a vibration at around 1800rpm and have come to the conclusion it is to do with the torque converter clutch. I originally thought it was the tailshaft, new unis, centre bearing, engine mounts and no fix.
By disconnectinc the TCC wiring I get no vibration and I am sure now this is where the problem lies.
The vibration only occurs at minimum throttle and doesnt happen all the time, but can be a pain.
I am not all that up with it as far as autos go and wonder if anyone may be able to help by answering a few questions.
1. is the TCC in the torque converter itself?
2. Is giving the trans a service likely to help?
3. I read somewhere that the solenoid can give problems, should i try replacing this?
4. any other ideas?
Thanks in advance,
hoots
i couldn't answer 1-3, but 4. have you checked the gearbox mounts?
what's the TCC and where did you disconect it from? is that the lock up part of the converter?

Thanks for reply guys, yep replaced gearbox mount.
TCC is torque converter clutch, there is a 4 pin plug on left of trans that controls the clutch from the ECU.
thanks might try un plugging mine as it vibrates as it locks up if you aren't on very light throttle
