hey this vq statesman series 1 im gonna buy had bent push rods how do u bend them is it cause of timing or thrashing it any ideas anyone plz
I'd say thrashing. But not to sure![]()
In the V6? sometimes they bend because they aren't very strong, in the 5 litre they shouldn't so there maybe another issue in that case (like cam too big for the springs) In the old Ford windsor V8's you would pull them apart and most of the push rods would be bent every time
most likely - lots (and lots) of high revving
somewhat likely - badly after market rebuilt/reassembled motor
unlikely - poorly designed factory motor
k thanks peoples just wanted to no also would u notice power loss from changing from pettie to gas cause the stato is on gas thanks
there's about 3-4kw loss when the gas is properly tuned. the only time it matters is when you floor it. doesn't affect normal driving, i can't tell the difference. good thing is that you can just flick to petrol when you want to give it a bit anyway, so it's win-win![]()
