Is it worth it or not..... depends what you expect from the early V6, you wont gain more than 5 rwkw, you _might_ gain 5rwhp, but you gain a fair bit of torque down low. Unfortuently there is no magical power gain to be had from the V6 unless the crank sensor is crooked (a few with Chinese parts are). I allways like to understate any potential gains, because there are a few cars out there that will gain nothing, so I don't like to give false hopes.

But! 5 rwhp is a big gain on a engine that doesn't have much power to begin with and you will gain perhaps .2-.3 over a full 1/4 mile which is quite a good gain.

It's just that compared to the 15 rwkw you can sometimes gain on the 5 litre and huge amounts more torque it makes the V6 look bad, but then it's 5 hp you wouldn't otherwise have . I could go around and tell everyone that you gain heaps on the V6 and everyone would believe it and it would be a case of mind over mater "dude bro my car goes so fast now" ? but really, I had a v6 for years and tried every single timing and fuel combination you can do, with 100's of different tunes and in the end there's a litttttle power gain on the V6, that's all it's ever going to be (unless the car has other base timing issues). Mine ran a 15.6 1/4 mile standard and 15.35? with the best tune I could get in it. 15.3 is good for a full weight auto VN, since there's no possible way to make one run a 14 with bolt ons, if anyone tells you his does then he needs to go to the padded room for a break. One thing you can do is improve fuel economy ALOT so it's worth doing that, if that's your thing. I don't do too many V6 ones because I have alot of people that need me to help them with 5 litres and some of those take ALOOOOOONG time but there's plenty of people around that will do one, even if you just get the SV3800 tune, they are probably 70-80% of the gain you will be able to get on most cars

hey green foam you're out of email space so i'll just post here

    hi
i just read your thread about the tune

would you be interested in doing my V6?
i'm not after great power upgrades(a little is better than nothing, especially for towing), but better fuel economy would be good

i'm in no rush, just wanted to ask
    thanks
